Terms of Service
Last updated 30 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Furry Cupid. They cover what we do, what we do not do, and what happens when something goes wrong. We have tried to write them so that you can actually read them.
What Furry Cupid is
Furry Cupid is a place where pet owners find people to care for their pets, and where sitters and walkers find work. We introduce the two of you and handle the payment. That is the whole of our role.
We are not a pet care provider. We do not employ sitters or walkers, we do not supervise the care they give, and we do not insure you, your pet, or them. The person caring for your pet is running their own business and is responsible for their own work.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Accounts are for one person; do not share yours or let someone else use it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.
We take no commission
Providers keep 100% of the service price. We do not take a cut of it.
The only amount added at checkout is the card processing fee, which covers what the payment processor charges and nothing more. It is shown to you before you pay.
Booking and paying
You send a request; the provider accepts or declines it. Nothing is charged when you request — only once they have accepted and you have paid.
Once a provider accepts, you have 24 hours to pay. After that the request expires and the booking does not happen.
The price is per pet. A booking for two dogs costs twice a booking for one, because it is twice the work.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
The provider is paid after the job is finished and both sides have confirmed it — or, if one side goes quiet, 24 hours after the other has confirmed.
Cancellations and refunds
Every provider sets one of three cancellation policies, and the one that applies to your booking is fixed at the moment you request it, so it cannot change underneath you. You are shown which policy applies and what you would get back before you cancel.
Refunds are of the service price. Whatever is not refunded goes to the provider, not to us — the point of these rules is to protect someone who turned down other work to hold your slot.
- Within 24 hours of the start time: no refund, whichever policy applies.
- Flexible: full refund with 48 hours' notice or more, otherwise 50%.
- Moderate: 50%, at any amount of notice.
- Strict: 50% with 72 hours' notice or more, otherwise nothing.
- Once your pet has been dropped off, no refund is owed for unused days — the provider has already committed the whole period.
If a provider cancels or does not turn up
You get your service price back in full. A cancellation or no-show attributed to a provider is also recorded against them, and a pattern of them is reviewed by a person here who decides what to do about it.
Donations to Paw Salvation
At checkout you may add a donation to Paw Salvation Inc, a 501(c)(3) organisation (EIN 83-2619561). It is optional and you can remove it in one click.
100% of it goes to the charity. We take nothing from it and neither does the provider.
A donation is not refundable. Once your payment goes through, the money is on its way to the charity, and it stays there even if the booking is later cancelled or refunded. We tell you this before you pay, and it is why a cancelled booking still shows on your donation total.
Insurance, and what we are not responsible for
Furry Cupid does not sell insurance and does not insure your pet. If you want cover, you arrange it directly with an insurer.
A provider's own insurance, if they hold any, covers their liability. It does not cover your pet. This is the point people most often get wrong, so we say it plainly at checkout as well as here.
Furry Cupid cannot be held liable for any damage, loss, injury, illness or death affecting a pet, anyone's property, or any person, arising from a booking — including injury caused by a pet, such as bites. Any claim arising from a booking is between the owner and the provider.
Both sides are asked to acknowledge this before it matters: an owner without cover accepts a waiver at checkout, and a provider without cover accepts an equivalent one before taking the booking.
Background checks and vaccination records
A provider cannot accept a booking until they hold a current background check. They may build a profile and appear in search before then, but they cannot take work.
A pet's vaccination record is confirmed by us, from a document their vet uploads directly. A pet without a confirmed record is not blocked from anything — a provider is simply shown that it is missing, so they can ask.
Insurance is different from both of these. It never blocks a booking for either side. What it does is get disclosed.
What you write and post
Report cards, reviews, photos and community posts stay yours. By posting them you let us show them where they belong on the platform — a report card to the pet's owner, a review on the profile it is about, a shared card in the community feed if the provider chose to share it.
Reviews should be your honest experience. We do not edit or delete them to make anyone look better, and we do not take them down because someone dislikes them.
Do not post anything untrue, anyone else's private information, or anything you do not have the right to share.
Messaging
Messaging on Furry Cupid is between owners whose pets have become friends. Having a booking together does not open a conversation. This is deliberate, and it means the platform is not the place to arrange care around a booking.
Things you must not do
Some of this is obvious, but it is worth being specific.
- Taking a booking off the platform to avoid paying through it, after meeting here.
- Pretending to be someone else, or making an account for someone else.
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against anyone.
- Mistreating an animal, or leaving one unattended in a way that puts it at risk.
- Using the platform for anything illegal.
Suspending an account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we think someone or an animal is at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why.
You can stop using Furry Cupid whenever you like. If you want your account closed, ask us and we will do it.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when things change, and the date at the top will tell you when. If a change materially affects you, we will let you know rather than leaving you to notice.
Getting in touch
If something here is unclear, or you think we have got something wrong, contact us and a person will answer.
Questions about any of this? Ask us directly and we'll answer in writing.
