Privacy Policy

This explains what Furry Cupid collects, why, and who else sees it. We have listed the companies that actually hold your data rather than describing them in general terms.
What we collect
Most of it is what you type in. Some of it is created by using the platform.
- Your account: name, email, and a password, or the Google or Apple account you signed in with.
- Your pets: name, species, breed, age, size, temperament, feeding and behaviour notes, medical notes, your vet's name and email, and whether you say the pet is insured.
- Vaccination records, when your vet uploads one at your request.
- Bookings and the messages, notes and report cards attached to them.
- Photos you upload — of yourself, your pets, and, for providers, your profile.
- Payment records: what was charged and when. Card numbers go to Stripe and never reach us.
- For providers: the details needed for a background check, and the payout account you connect.
- Approximate location, from the address you give us, so search can tell who is nearby.
Why we use it
To run the thing you came here for: showing you providers near you, letting you book them, taking the payment, paying them, and letting each side see what they need to know about the other.
To keep people and animals safe — background checks, vaccination confirmation, and looking into reports when something goes wrong.
To send you what a booking requires: confirmations, receipts, reminders and messages.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
The companies that hold your data
We use a small number of services to run the platform. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
- Stripe — payments, refunds and provider payouts. Your card details go to Stripe directly.
- Checkr — background checks for providers who ask for one.
- Supabase — the database and the storage where uploaded files live.
- Resend — sending email.
- Google Maps — turning an address into an approximate location for search.
- Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
About Paw Salvation
Donations reach Paw Salvation Inc as money, not as data. We do not send them your name, your email, or anything about your pet. If you want a record of what you gave, your billing page keeps a running total for the year.
What other people can see
Some of what you enter is meant to be seen, and it is worth knowing which parts.
- A provider you request sees your name, your pets' details, your notes, and whether each pet's vaccination record is confirmed and whether you say the pet is insured.
- An owner sees a provider's profile, services, rates, badges, and the reviews left about them.
- Report cards go to the owners of the pets on that booking. A provider can also share one to the community feed, and is asked each time.
- Reviews are public on the profile they are about.
- Messaging is only ever between owners whose pets are friends.
How long we keep it
Account and booking records are kept while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and dispute purposes.
Payment records are kept by Stripe under their own retention rules.
You can delete your own pets, photos, comments and reviews at any time, and they go.
Your choices
You can see and change most of your information in your settings, and delete pets, photos and posts yourself.
You can download everything we hold about you, and you can close your account, both from your settings. Closing removes your name, your email, your photos and your pets’ details, and signs you out for good.
Your past bookings and payment records stay, without your name attached. The person you booked with needs them for their own records and their taxes, and we need them for ours — so we remove who you were rather than erasing what happened.
You can change how we contact you in your notification settings. We will still send you the messages a booking depends on, such as receipts and confirmations.
Children
Furry Cupid is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will remove it.
Keeping it safe
Access to your data is restricted to what each part of the system needs. Uploaded documents — vaccination records, background check evidence — are served through links that expire, rather than sitting at a public address.
No system is perfectly secure. If something happens that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, this page changes with them and the date at the top moves. If a change is significant we will tell you rather than relying on you to check.
Getting in touch
For anything about your data — a copy of it, a correction, or deletion — contact us and a person will answer.
Questions about any of this? Ask us directly and we'll answer in writing.
